Witness in Holly Bobo murder trial admits lying, raising questions about nursing student's true killer

Almost ten years after a man’s conviction for the murder of a Tennessee nursing student, the defense is seeking a retrial due to a key witness admitting they fabricated their testimony.

In 2011, Holly Bobo, who was 20 years old, vanished from her home in a rural area, leading to a vast search that concluded over three years later with the discovery of her remains.

Zachary Adams, alongside two others, faced charges for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Bobo. Adams decided to stand trial, resulting in his 2017 conviction on all counts and a life sentence, plus an extra 50 years.

“The community was desperate for closure and justice,” McLendon commented to Fox News Digital. “Selecting a jury from among individuals who had been eager to see the case resolved after six years, and then presenting them with false testimony while preventing the defense from fully presenting evidence, including evidence that could clear the accused, made the verdict unsurprising to me.”
