This weekend, Lithuania’s capital was flooded with people attending Corgi Race Vilnius, an event where 120 teams of enthusiastic corgis and their owners from various parts of Europe competed against each other.
Corgi Race Vilnius, a two-day affair in Lithuania’s capital, showcased Welsh Pembroke and Cardigan corgis as they took part in races, solo sprints, puzzle and costume challenges, and even a “mightiest voice” contest, as detailed on the event’s website.
Participants journeyed from numerous European countries, including Latvia, Poland, Austria, Italy, and Germany, to join the event, according to The Associated Press.
“Vilnius will transform into the center of corgi universe, and we want every dog lover to be a part of it,” as noted on Corgi Race Vilnius’ website.

“This is Mango, like the fruit, and this is our second time participating in Corgi Race 2025,” said Ignas Klimaika, a corgi aficionado from Vilnius, to AP. “Last year, we didn’t finish the race as we hoped. We had trained diligently, but this year we opted to skip the training and just enjoy the company of so many corgis.”
Klimaika added, “He knows what he did, and he’s really proud of himself.”
Last year, Corgi Race Vilnius brought together 100 corgis from five countries and drew close to 7,000 fans, according to the event’s website.
