Australia Post suspends deliveries to the US
This morning, the company issued a statement about new measures being taken due to changes in import rules and tariffs set by US President Donald Trump.

These measures include halting the De Minimis exemption for goods under $US800 ($1233) and requiring tariffs to be prepaid before items enter the US.

“We regret having to take this step; however, the fast-changing and complex situation has forced us to temporarily suspend some services. This is necessary to create and apply an effective solution for our customers,” stated Australia Post executive general manager Gary Starr.

“Recently, guidance from CBP (US Customs and Border Protection) was issued, and like over 190 other postal services, we’ve been working swiftly to devise a solution.”

Australia Post is collaborating with Zonos, an approved third-party provider, to find a resolution that will enable the resumption of the halted services.

“Australia Post is actively engaging with US and Australian authorities and international postal associates to prioritize the restoration of postal services to the US,” Starr mentioned.
