Donatella Versace posted a snap on social media this week, showing off her startling new look.

Sitting in the ‘summer twilight’ the fashion designer, dressed in a statement sequin dress, looked incredible with a fresh-faced complexion.

For decades Donatella, 70, has sparked speculation about her changing appearance but has only ever publicly admitted to Botox.

An expert in cosmetic treatments has shared her thoughts on what she believes the Italian icon might have undergone in terms of procedures, and whether her youthful appearance results from reversing cosmetic enhancements or is simply a natural part of ageing.

Anastasia Koles, an advanced aesthetic nurse and founder of ALTA Medispa, commented to the Daily Mail: ‘Based on images, her lips seem smaller than before, which can happen for several reasons.’

‘In the past, she seems to have had permanent fillers, likely silicone, in combination with hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers layered on top.’

‘If the HA filler has been dissolved or has naturally broken down, that could explain the reduction in volume. 

Koles suggests Donatella’s altered features might be attributed to a facelift. She explains: ‘The initial broadening of her lips might have been due to silicone in addition to the effects of a high-tension facelift, where the skin is significantly tightened at the sides.’

‘Her jawline seems more pronounced, which could be achieved by dermal fillers to enhance structure or skin-tightening methods like RF microneedling, both aiming to create a sharper, more defined look.’

The specialist, who noted that it’s difficult to determine what specific procedures, if any, the star has undergone without a personal consultation, emphasized that ‘natural ageing itself can also contribute to these changes.’

‘Changes in skin and tissue over time can make lips and facial features look different.’

Donatella shocked fans when she debuted a brand new look while posing for pictures at the The Devil Wears Prada musical launch last year.  

The designer shared snaps from the big night out on Instagram with the caption, ‘R.S.V.P. YES The Devil Wears Prada for its Opening Gala Night,’ calling the show ‘mesmerising’ and praising her friend Elton for his work on it. 

In the second slide, Donatella looked younger than ever, causing fans to comment in shock, with one calling her new look ‘the biggest upgrade in history’.

Many people have pointed out that celebrities appear to be getting ‘undetectable’ procedures with little to no recovery time, leaving them looking unrecognisable on the red carpet. 

Many plastic surgeons have talked about how these stars are entering their ‘undetectable eras’ because of these subtle beauty tweaks. 

The designer’s current look is a stark contrast to her appearance when she hosted her first runway show, following her brother Gianni’s death, in 1997, with her image beginning to evolve after she took the reins of the fashion empire.

She previously admitted to having work done in the past, declaring in 2013: ‘I’m not like this genetically,’ and adding ‘I do not believe in totally natural women.’

But she has only ever admitted to Botox, stressing it was ‘only on my face, not on my body, that’s the result of hard work.’
