George and Amal Clooney own a stunning lakeside villa estimated to be worth $100 million, and it’s no surprise they enjoy sharing its beauty with their celebrity friends.

Recently, the Clooneys, along with their eight-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, hosted a group of friends, including Adam Sandler, famous for his role in Happy Gilmore. They departed from their lavish Villa Oleandra on Lake Como by motorboat, heading a few miles to the upscale Villa d’Este for a vibrant lunch.

The group also included celebrated figures such as multiple Oscar-nominated Barbie director Greta Gerwig, her husband director Noah Baumbach, and Oscar-winning actors Jim Broadbent and Laura Dern.

Also onboard were American actors Billy Crudup, Grace Edwards and Patrick Wilson.

Representing the younger ‘nepo set’, actress Eve Hewson, daughter of U2 singer Bono, was also aboard, along with Elvis’s granddaughter Riley Keough.

The only one who could possibly claim to be ‘local’ was Italian-German actress Alba Rohrwacher.

After their villa gathering, the Clooneys and many of their guests are anticipated to make their way to the Venice Film Festival, which kicks off later this week.

Stories keep appearing claiming that the Clooneys are planning to sell Villa Oleander, but they always seem to hang onto it.

Clooney only paid €10m for the house when he bought it from the Heinz family in 2002.

It was also reported that the filmmaker’s presence on Lake Como set off a real estate boom, prompting prices of properties in the area to double.

The home, which boasts 25 rooms, was estimated at over $100 million in 2022, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Lake Como is a special place for George since he met Amal there in 2013 during a dinner party with mutual friends.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in September 2017, George shared his first impressions of Amal, stating, “I thought she was beautiful, and I thought she was funny and obviously smart.”

The home has seen its share of entertainment industry A-listers.

In 2004, the entire cast of Ocean’s Twelve was treated to a visit at the villa.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski tied the knot there in 2010, with Krasinski explaining to Elle six years later how it came to be.

The Boston-born actor revealed that George offered the home to the couple multiple times.

‘Only on the fourth ask did I say yes. Because the first three times I thought, there’s no way he is serious,’ he explained.

2018 saw Jennifer Aniston briefly make the space her home while she worked on the comedy film Murder Mystery.

And Clooney was there to support the area four years ago when it was battered by heavy rain and landslides during the summer season.

After assessing the damage, George said in a video shared online, ‘It’s much worse than I thought.

‘I have spoken to the mayor — there will be a lot of work, it will take millions of dollars, but this city is strong. It will react and return better than before. This is a very resilient city.’

Mayor Roberto Pozzi told the Sunday Times that Clooney ‘came straight to the town hall to see what had happened and we took a tour of the damage.’

Donations went to the Clooney Foundation for Justice and winners were treated to lunch with George and Amal, round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations.
