A CBS News White House reporter has gone viral for her sweet reaction to finding out that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were engaged.

Olivia Rinaldi was set for a live TV segment when a colleague texted her about Taylor Swift’s Instagram post announcing her engagement.

Rinaldi’s mouth fell open as she had a double take at her phone screen, looking up directly at the camera and then back down to re-read the news.

‘Taylor Swift is engaged,’ she said repeatedly as she waved her phone in the air and pointed at the screen.

‘Come back to me,’ she told the cameraman, urging him to give her a few more moments off screen to process the news. ‘Oh my god. She just posted it.’

‘Oh it’s huge, the ring is ginormous,’ she added as she marveled at the photos Swift had shared of the intimate engagement.

‘This is so exciting. It’s on her Instagram. I feel like Paul Revere right now.’

The clip of Rinaldi’s sweet reaction has since gone viral online, with almost 500,000 views on the original CBSNews clip in just five hours.

‘I love this. In a world where reporting the news can eat at you, her JOY at this bit of news made me smile,’ one supporter said on X.

Rinaldi’s excitement couldn’t be contained, and she shared: ‘This is an incredible moment for me to announce that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged.’

Rinaldi volunteered to ‘be there to cover’ the wedding whenever it takes place, prompting her colleague to jokingly ‘thank her for her sacrifice.’

‘Girl we will ALL be your assistants if you need help,’ one person added on X.

The pop superstar and NFL player, both 35, who have been a couple for two years, made their engagement official Tuesday with a romantic photoshoot featuring Kelce proposing in a rose garden.

Swift captioned the post: ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’

Swift also showcased her impressive diamond engagement ring in the post – an Old Mine Brilliant Cut from Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry, valued between $675,000 and $1 million.

The star shared the post on her Instagram, set to the ballad So High School, which is a song from her last album dedicated to Kelce.

The duo went public with their romance in September 2023, when Swift joined Kelce’s mother, Donna, at a Kansas City Chiefs game.
