Silva, hailing from Jacarei in Sao Paulo state, Brazil, was vacationing in the Ornos area of Mykonos with actor and adult content creator Ryan Silveira, aged 23.

The pair were reportedly celebrating Silva’s 25th birthday when the Greek tragedy struck on Saturday 23rd.

Hotel cleaners entered the room after noticing a leak from the roof of the pair’s balcony.

Inside they found the two young Brazilians inside the pool.

Both were unresponsive with Silva confirmed dead at the scene once emergency crews arrived.

Silveira was miraculously pulled from the water by a member of staff.

He was initially in a coma and was rushed to hospital but has since regained consciousness.

His family say he doesn’t remember what happened but confirmed he is beginning to speak again.

Silveira’s sister said she was on a video call with the best friends shortly before the incident.

They had said they planned on going to a party shortly after swimming.

The Greek authorities have initiated an investigation, with the Prosecutor’s Office of the Syros Court of First Instance commissioning an autopsy to ascertain the cause of Silva’s death.

Police said they found a syringe and four packets of an unknown white powder inside their room.

The material has been sent for analysis at a nearby laboratory.

The Brazilian Embassy in Athens confirmed Yago’s death and said it is providing help to his family.

It comes just weeks after a three-year-old girl was found dead on a beach in Greece in the early hours of the morning.

The girl’s body was found by a horrified passerby at around 4am, who immediately called the emergency services, according to reports.
