Logan Morrison is accused of grabbing and shoving a resident at a senior living facility where he was employed.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has announced the arrest of a nursing assistant from Nassau County following allegations of abusing a resident at an assisted-living facility.
According to a press release issued by the attorney general, the nursing assistant, named Logan Morrison, is charged with grabbing and shoving a resident at the senior living facility where he worked, Dayspring Senior Living LLC in Hilliard. The release also noted that the resident involved is disabled.
The Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, with help from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the incident. They allege that on April 15, 2024, Morrison was witnessed grabbing the victim by the neck and pushing them to the ground.
Morrison is facing one count of abuse of a disabled adult, which is a third-degree felony. He faces up to five years in prison.
“Elder abuse is something my office will not tolerate,” remarked Uthmeier. “You can be sure that we will take strong action against this offender and continue to uphold the protection of those who are unable to defend themselves.”
