DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A young boy was safely rescued at Hersheypark on Saturday, August 30, after he was seen walking along the monorail tracks.

The ride was closed at the time of the incident, with a chain closure at the entrance and barricaded turnstile at the platform.

A video shared on social media captured a crowd gathered around a ride as the boy navigated along the tracks, aided by a guest who helped bring him to safety.

According to Hersheypark, the boy was reported missing around 5:05 p.m. During the ensuing search by team members, the boy entered a restricted monorail area. He stayed at the closed station for roughly 20 minutes before beginning to walk along the track.

Hersheypark’s statement reveals, “A guest promptly noticed and guided the child to safety. Our team members quickly responded once he was seen on the tracks, and by approximately 5:28 p.m., the child was safely reunited with his family.”

The statement further emphasizes, “We are thankful for the attentiveness of our guests and the rapid action of our team, and we continue to prioritize the highest standards of guest safety at Hersheypark.”
