(NewsNation) — Winning numbers for a Powerball jackpot of rare proportions were selected late Saturday: 3, 18, 22, 27, 33 and Powerball 17.

This marked only the sixth time that the Powerball jackpot soared to $1 billion prior to a drawing. The Power Play multiplier applied to non-jackpot prizes was set at 3.

Powerball jackpot after-tax amount

Opting for the one-time cash payout would result in approximately $453.1 million before taxes. After federal taxes, this sum dwindles to $330.8 million. However, further state taxes will apply, depending on where the winning ticket is purchased.

There are nine states without any additional lottery taxes: California, Delaware, Florida, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming.

What can you buy with the $1B Powerball jackpot?

With nearly $331 million at your disposal, you could acquire a small fleet of 737 planes, over 30 private islands currently on the market in the Bahamas, 945 brand new Lamborghini Hurácan supercars, or a new PlayStation 5 for every resident of Wyoming.

What are the odds of winning the $1B Powerball jackpot?

What are the odds of hitting it big? One in 292 million.

You are more likely to have a higher IQ than Albert Einstein, give birth to identical quadruplets or be struck by lightning twice.

Since its inception in 1992, Powerball has seen Indiana and Missouri produce the most jackpot winners. Among the nine states with at least 15 jackpot winners, six include some residents living in the Central Time Zone.
