Macon Co. man accused of stomping on shooting victim's head

A 20-year-old man was injured in a Labor Day shooting in Decatur, roughly six hours prior to another fatal shooting occurring less than three miles away.

According to Police Lieutenant Adam Jahraus, on September 1, officers were dispatched to the vicinity of 16th and Lawrence Streets at 5:45 p.m. following reports to the Decatur Police Department of a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year-old man on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his right leg. He was transported to a nearby hospital, and his injury is considered non-life-threatening.

Police also found a used shell casing at the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.
