The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported a 12% drop in visitors to Sin City in July 2025 compared to the previous year, with the city welcoming nearly 3.1 million people. Attendance at conventions has fluctuated, showing a 10% decrease in June but then a 10% increase in July.
This overall decline is a concern for Las Vegas, as its economy heavily relies on tourism. Bruce Rosenberg, the global president of HotelPlanner, mentioned that with drinks costing around $20 to $25 and steep hotel resort fees, Las Vegas is becoming “too expensive.”
These costs have often led visitors to check into resorts in small rural towns near Vegas.
Due to these high expenses, some resorts are focusing on promotions to attract customers. Resorts World has suspended resort fees and offered free parking until September 10, while Sahara Las Vegas offers numerous perks, such as complimentary late checkout, free parking, and upgrades on select stays, as noted by The Points Guy.
