JSO: Paul Avenue shooting leaves man dead; 2 detained

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said two people were detained for questioning by detectives.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two individuals were taken into custody Tuesday night following the fatal shooting of a man on Jacksonville’s Southside, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

According to JSO Sergeant Weaver-Thompson, officers were called to the 2500 block of Paul Avenue at 10:11 p.m. regarding a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man in his early 40s with a gunshot injury.

The man was then rushed to a local hospital, where he later died.

JSO said the two people detained were questioned by detectives.
