A New York father was apprehended outside a luxurious Florida hotel for “hot-boxing” his car with a woman while his 2-year-old son sat defenseless in the back seat, according to police reports.

Phillip Fraisar, 36, from Hamlin, New York, and Kasey Buckmann, 27, from Rochester, New York, were reportedly found outside the Clevelander Hotel in Miami Beach’s Art Deco District on a Sunday night, as per arrest documents acquired by local ABC affiliate WPLG.

The couple had parked at the valet area at 1020 Ocean Drive. Authorities allege they were consuming cannabis and tequila inside their car. The child present was Fraisar’s son, officers confirmed.

“The marijuana smoke filled the vehicle, a practice typically referred to as hot-boxing,” the police mentioned in the arrest reports. A “large clear bag of marijuana” was reportedly discovered beneath the driver’s seat — with a firearm found in the glove compartment, according to the documents.

Fraisar, who has a felony record, was allegedly within “arm’s reach” of the firearm, detectives noted. Court documentation indicates his prior conviction involved criminal possession of a weapon.

As officers arrived, Fraisar was spotted exiting the vehicle and abandoning Buckmann with his son. He eventually returned and was taken into custody.

Both Fraisar and Buckmann are facing child abuse charges. Buckmann is also charged with marijuana possession, while Fraisar faces an additional charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

The pair asked to be represented by public defenders after each entered pleas of not guilty on Tuesday, according to court records. They have both requested a trial by jury and are being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on $8,000 bond. No court dates have been scheduled yet.
