A teenage girl from Texas, accused of participating in the torture and death of her eight-year-old brother along with her boyfriend, claims she is innocent and denies causing harm to him.

Kara Walker, aged 17, along with her 18-year-old boyfriend, Nolan Stallings, face charges related to the death of Charles Walker, who has been charged with felony injury to a child.

Charles passed away on February 10, several days after being hospitalized in critical condition with injuries indicative of abuse, including a fractured skull, as reported by the police.

Prosecutors said the couple tortured the boy ‘over several days’ at Stallings’ home in Highlands, near Houston, before his death.

They also said they were not ready to say why the ‘most serious’ charges had not been filed against the teen couple.

But Kara has now claimed she is innocent of the horrific accusations and suggested it was her boyfriend who was behind the boy’s tragic death.

‘I’m being falsely charged. I wouldn’t do anything to harm my brother,’ she told KPRC from the Harris County Jail.

Charles died on February 10 a few days after he was taken to the hospital in critical condition - with injuries that were consistent with abuse, including a crack skull

In relation to Charles’s passing, an incident note indicates his hospitalization with injuries like a cracked skull, pointing towards abuse.

Kara stated, “The authorities discovered a note on my phone that they claim I wrote, even though I didn’t, and they found text messages… implying I had forced my brother to stand in the corner, although that isn’t true,” she explained.

She claimed Stallings has been abusive towards her in the past but she never reported it to police.

Kara and Charles’ parents stood by their daughter, telling the outlet that they don’t believe she would harm her little brother.

The siblings’ father, Christian West, argued that Kara couldn’t have physically tortured her brother, considering her small stature of 5’2 and approximately 100 pounds.

The grieving father said doctors compared the boy’s injuries to those suffered in a ‘car accident.’

‘[A] 70 to 80 mile an hour car crash with an unrestrained victim,’ West said.

Kara and her parents said they hope Stallings’ charge is upgraded to murder.

Kara said she was at Stallings’ house in Highlands when she heard him scream for her.

She claimed she rushed to where Stallings was and found Charles lying motionless.

The teen girl said she asked Stallings what had happened but he did not say much.

Stallings told police at the hospital the boy was injured in a fall and ‘fell down a lot,’ but doctors told detectives the story was unlikely, officials said.

An autopsy revealed the boy died from blunt force trauma, according to court documents.

Prosecutors said the boy was ‘abused and tortured over several days’ and that ‘the injuries that resulted from abuse caused the complainant’s death.’

Stallings was accused of beating the boy with his hands as well as with blunt objects before his death.

Stallings was released from jail on a $1 million bond and is due back in court on September 18.

He had tried getting his bond reduced by noting the incident occurred about nine days before his 18th birthday, but a judge declined his reasoning.

Kara remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.
