“In his final year, he was a form senior and was much-admired by the junior boys he cared for.

“His big heart, ability to light up a room and passion to help others made him a wonderful teammate and an even better friend.

“The school extends its heartfelt sympathies to Sean’s parents, Michael Forrest and Angie Ryan, his brothers Jude and Dominic, as well as their wider family and friends.”

A Thredbo spokesperson said resort staff were “deeply saddened by the tragic passing”.

”Emergency services were engaged with Thredbo Ski Patrol and a Thredbo medical centre doctor promptly attending the scene,” the spokesperson said.

“The Thredbo community extends its heartfelt condolences to family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.”

The 22-year-old died after falling on advanced terrain at the Front Valley terrain park.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
