Man charged with rape, aggravated assault

A Chatham County grand jury in Savannah, Ga. officially charged a man with rape and aggravated assault Wednesday, as revealed in court documents.

Samuel Law Jr. is accused of raping a woman and pointing a gun at her on June 9, 2025.

The charges also include aggravated stalking. The indictment alleges that Law breached a term of his pretrial release by unlawfully contacting the woman with the intent to harass and intimidate her.

Law was indicted on two gun charges as well, according to court documents.

Additionally, he faces charges for possession of an illegal weapon. Reports indicate that Law was in possession of a Glock 26 equipped with a switch, which is a small device used to convert a firearm from semi-automatic to fully automatic firing capability.

Additionally, Law was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
