A heartbreaking event in Michigan has left a family in mourning after a 10-month-old baby girl lost both parents. The baby’s father took the life of her mother and then took his own in a murder-suicide.
In a report by WDIV, an NBC affiliate, the family of the 24-year-old victim, Brianna Frame, shared details of the incident. Brianna’s ex-boyfriend was responsible for her death, though his name remains undisclosed. According to the Hamtramck Police Department, officers arrived at the crime scene on August 29 following reports of a shooting, where they discovered two individuals deceased from gunshot injuries.
“No suspects are at large and there is no threat to the public,” the police noted in the post.
In the aftermath, Brianna Frame’s family bravely came forward to share the devastating story, revealing that Brianna was killed in front of her young daughter, Kameron.
Donald Frame, Brianna’s brother, spoke to WDIV about the tragic day. He recounted being at home with Brianna, her baby daughter Kameron, and their parents. Before the shooting, Donald heard his sister’s distressed cries and then witnessed her ex-boyfriend fatally shooting her. He immediately informed their father, simply stating, “Brianna’s been shot.”
According to WDIV and a GoFundMe page set up by Brianna’s cousin, Alicia Lepkowski, the shooter then committed suicide. The entire ordeal occurred in the presence of young Kameron, leaving the infant without her parents.
Lepkowski told WDIV that the baby’s father was “selfish” for leaving his baby daughter without parents. In her message on GoFundMe and in her interview with WDIV, she said that people needed to take domestic violence situations more seriously. She told WDIV, “People tell you to walk away, and you walk away, and you still have to worry.”
Police did not go into further detail about the incident but said an investigation was ongoing.
