Orlando Bloom opened up about his split from Katy Perry in rare remarks during a candid interview on the Today show Friday.
The British actor, 48, and the pop icon, 40, started their relationship in 2016, got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019, and revealed their separation in June after spending nine years together.
While promoting his new film The Cut, Bloom was asked how he was handling the recent ‘personal changes’ in his life.
‘We’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love,’ he said of the breakup.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star also touched on their 5-year-old daughter, Daisy.
‘We share a wonderful daughter. When you pour everything into a project like I did with this film, I just feel thankful for all of it,’ he expressed.

He added, ‘I’m great, man. I’m so grateful.’
Although Friday featured Orlando’s initial public remarks on his breakup with Katy, he had previously alluded to his feelings on Instagram.
On June 30, just days after the breakup became public, he shared a series of inspirational quotes on his stories.
Two days later, he reposted a carousel of musings from Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung.
One post explored the weight of ‘loneliness,’ while another reminded followers that even a happy life must be balanced with ‘sadness’.
During that period, representatives informed the Daily Mail, ‘Orlando and Katy have been evolving their relationship over recent months to prioritize co-parenting. They will continue to be seen as a family unit, with their main focus always being to raise their daughter in love, stability, and mutual respect.’
Following the separation, Orlando jetted off to Venice for the star-studded wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.
Katy, who had attended Lauren’s bachelorette party in Paris and joined the all-female Blue Origin space flight, did not attend.

‘We’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love,’ he said of the breakup
Her absence was reportedly due to scheduling conflicts with her Lifetimes Tour in Australia.
At the wedding, Orlando mingled with several high-profile guests, including Kim Kardashian and Sydney Sweeney.
He was also spotted getting cozy with Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, during a water taxi ride to the airport after the nuptials.
Meanwhile, Katy has been emotional during her Lifetimes Tour.
In Mexico City in April, she was seen sobbing while performing Pearl, a song about leaving a troubled romance.
In July, she again held back tears in Adelaide, forming her hands into a heart shape and expressing to fans: ‘Thank you, Australia, for always supporting me.’
Two days before their split went public, the Daily Mail reported the couple were renting out their $30million Montecito mansion to Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger.
Sources also said the duo had been living apart since the start of Katy’s tour in April.

‘We have the most beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I feel grateful for all of it,’ he said. (Seen last September)
Orlando and Katy first sparked romance rumors when they attended a Golden Globes afterparty together in January 2016.
Their relationship made headlines early on, including a notorious paddle-boarding romp in Sardinia where Orlando was spotted naked.
They broke up in 2017 but reunited by the following year. On Valentine’s Day 2019, he proposed with what appeared to be a more than 4-carat ring.
In 2020, they welcomed their daughter Daisy — Katy’s first child and Orlando’s second, as he also shares 14-year-old Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
In June 2021, the couple made their first on-screen appearance together in the short film Transmissions From The Future, playing elders from 2055 warning viewers to ‘save democracy while you can’ in support of the For the People Act.
They also gave a shoutout to nine-month-old Daisy, saying: ‘Tell Daisy we love her.’
Earlier this year, reports suggested tension in the relationship due to Katy’s poorly received seventh studio album, 143, released in September 2024.
Fans and critics slammed the record, with some claiming it sounded as if it was ‘generated through AI’.
‘The rumors of a rough patch are true, but it’s not at the point of no return,’ an insider told the Daily Mail.
‘They know they must fix things, and they both want to figure it out. They haven’t been able to sit down and work on some of their issues.
‘A breakup isn’t imminent, but they both know that they should focus on their relationship before it does become too late.’
