A Florida bartender allegedly stabbed a patron 10 times and made crude remarks about the victim’s dead mother — all over a bar tab.

Jason Wilfredo Rosario, 30, is charged with attempted second-degree murder following an incident on August 31 at Grumpy’s Underground bar in Orlando, as detailed in a probable cause arrest affidavit.

Police were approached by a woman covered in blood outside the bar. She explained that she had been in an alley behind the bar when she overheard an altercation between two men. One of the men brushed past her, mentioning that a stabbing had occurred. After re-entering the bar, another patron pointed out the blood on her hands.

The victim recounted to police that an argument started when Rosario charged him for drinks that hadn’t been served, as per police accounts. While the manager sorted the issue, Rosario remained unhappy, repeatedly taunting the victim with the phrase “you can suck a d—,” according to the affidavit. Rosario then made an insensitive remark about the victim’s deceased mother, walked away, but soon returned, suggesting they should resolve the matter outside.

Outside, the argument escalated as Rosario allegedly insulted the victim’s mother again, prompting the victim to punch him, knocking him to the ground. The two then grappled on the ground, during which Rosario allegedly brandished a knife and slashed the victim’s back, according to police. Rosario reportedly declared “I got him” once the conflict concluded. The victim told officers he was unaware of being stabbed during the quick succession of events.

Cops noticed 10 stab wounds to his body — seven to his left back area and three others to the head. The victim was taken to the hospital.

While police were on the scene, the bar owner informed them that “Saucy” had stabbed someone, expressing disapproval. She identified Rosario as the suspect, also known as “Joc Hip Hop,” and described him as “hotheaded.” She had intended to fire him after only three shifts, as noted in the affidavit.

During the owner’s conversation with police, Rosario contacted her by phone. An officer answered and instructed Rosario to return to the bar. Subsequently, police secured an arrest warrant and detained Rosario on Friday.

He remains in the Orange County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday.
