BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — A crash and heavy police response have closed lanes on Interstate 81 northbound in Bristol, Virginia Monday night.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reported on their traffic map that the incident happened around 8 p.m. Monday on I-81 north close to Exit 1.

VDOT reported that numerous lanes were closed as a result of the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) verified that one individual was arrested after the collision and directed any further inquiries to the United States Marshals Service (USMS).

News Channel 11 has reached out to the USMS for details and will provide updates as they become available.
