A 13-year-old has been arrested on a felony weapon charge after police say he brought a gun to a middle school football game.

STARKE, Fla. — A teenager from Bradford County faces felony charges for carrying a firearm to a football game, as reported by the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday at a middle school football match held in the Bradford High School stadium. A Bradford Middle School staff member was tipped off that a 13-year-old was spotted with a gun.

When the administrator confronted the teenager, BSCO said they identified a gun case inside his backpack.

BCSO also said that the teen pulled a BB gun from his waistband.

BCSO reported that after contacting the student’s parents, the teen’s mother revealed she had advised him against bringing the weapon before heading to her job.

The teen was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice after his arrest, BCSO said.
