CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – Illinois soccer has tied the best start to a season in program history, at 7-0 entering Big Ten play.
The Illini are among the only two teams in the United States that have yet to experience a loss this season. Incredibly, Illinois remains undefeated and has conceded just one goal across their seven matches.
“It’s amazing how she can move so effectively considering her height, and how explosive she is given her size,” remarked first-year Illinois head women’s soccer coach Katie Hultin. “Her hand skills are extraordinary… There are many impressive qualities about Izzy.”
Lee credits her defense.
“The effort they put in every game to get to every single ball has been great,” she said.
Plus, the redshirt junior says the fan support this year has been cool to see.
Currently ranked 16th nationally, Illinois is preparing to welcome Indiana on Friday, marking the first conference match under Katie Hultin’s leadership. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Demirjian Park.
