ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Two corrections officers from Orange County have been arrested for participating in a significant drug operation at the county jail, as reported by the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation.

Back in the spring, MBI officials noted a pattern of inmates displaying signs of drug intoxication within the jail.

Investigators stated in a release that they started probing the origin of these drugs, and after six months, they have pressed charges against 36 individuals linked to smuggling drugs into the facility.

Among the accused, 22 were inmates during the crimes, with two identified as corrections officers Danielle Lamb, 39, and Sharnese Warren, 39.

The pair face the following charges:

  • Danielle Lamb: Introduction of contraband into a county facility

  • Sharnese Warren: Racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device

Furthermore, the release indicates another accused is a private lawyer, who is charged with bringing illegal substances into the jail under the guise of representing an inmate.

“The Orange County Corrections Department strongly denounces the actions alleged against the two officers implicated in this investigation,” stated Corrections Department Chief Louis Quinones. “Such behavior contrasts with the commendable service of over 1,600 dedicated individuals within the agency.”

Anyone with further knowledge of these crimes is encouraged to contact the MBI at (407) 836-9701.
