Fox News Digital has released a new photo showing Frank and Maureen Olton, an elderly couple from Queens who were reportedly attacked in their home. The suspect allegedly entered under the pretense of charging a phone, where he then tied them up, stabbed them, and set the house ablaze.
At the ages of 76 and 77, the couple was peacefully spending a Monday morning at their Bellerose residence before being subjected to hours of torture and eventual murder, stated Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz in a Friday press release.
Jamel McGriff, 42, a former convict from the Bronx with an extensive criminal history, is facing 14 murder charges and a total of 37 counts. These include accusations of kidnapping, burglary, robbery, arson, and several other offenses, as detailed by the Queens County District Attorney’s Office.
“In what is alleged to be a shocking act of violence, the defendant forced entry into a Bellerose residence, fatally stabbed one of the residents, and intentionally set the property on fire,” Katz detailed in the statement.

Following the incident, McGriff allegedly used Frank’s credit cards for purchases amounting to $796.10 at Macy’s and sold the couple’s phones in the Bronx, transactions which he conducted with his own identification and loyalty card, according to the district attorney’s office.
McGriff was apprehended by the New York Police Department Wednesday evening in Manhattan.
The 42-year-old has a rap sheet spanning three decades, including two armed robberies in Manhattan just weeks before the murders, FOX 5 reported.
