The Next Question: Did Online Radical Groups Know About Charlie Kirk Assassination in Advance?

It’s the first thing that comes to mind in awful situations like this—did a deranged psychopath act alone, or did he have help?

Following the tragic assassination of Turning Point USA’s co-founder and CEO, Charlie Kirk, on Wednesday by an individual exhibiting extreme leftist leanings, authorities are investigating whether he acted alone or if others in his online circle were aware of his intentions.

The federal investigation into Charlie Kirk’s assassination has expanded to determine if online pro-trans groups and individuals linked to Tyler Robinson had prior knowledge of the murder plot against the MAGA influencer, The Post has reported.

According to law enforcement sources, officials are scrutinizing left-leaning groups both in Utah and on the internet to ascertain any involvement in or prior awareness of the attack.

The investigation now includes entities within the online gaming platform Steam and a pro-trans group known as Armed Queers SLC, which removed their Instagram account following Kirk’s death, the source confirmed.

The clues are there on the vast interwebs, and investigators are digging down to find out who knew what, and when:

The Utah-based group Armed Queers SLC, which uses a logo featuring two high-caliber rifle rounds similar to the one used in the attack, hosted a discussion on “queer resistance” in September 2023 at the University of Utah, located about 45 miles from Utah Valley University where the 31-year-old leader of Turning Point USA and Trump supporter was killed.

Flyers obtained by Young America’s Foundation for the event—held in association with the “leftist student organization” Mecha de U of U—depict a young woman wearing two ammunition belts and holding an AK-47, her finger positioned on the trigger.

Even leftist outlet Axios is wondering if there’s more to the story:

Between the lines: Federal and state law enforcement officials also are examining leftist groups in Utah to see whether they had knowledge of the alleged shooter’s plans beforehand, or if they lent material support to him afterward.

  • One of those groups eliminated its social media profile after the shooting, Axios has learned.

What they’re saying: “It’s pretty clear that Robinson’s roommate knew a lot and didn’t say anything after the killing, so they’re a person of interest officially and are cooperating,” a second official said. “We want to keep it that way.”

  • “What we want to know is if anyone else had knowledge [of the shooting], before or after,” that source said.

That’s something we all want to know. Tyler Robinson may turn out to be a warped soul who acted on his own—or there may be more to the story. We have a right to the facts, and RedState will continue to bring you updates as warranted.
