Police said officers responded to a report of people shot in the Englewood neighborhood’s 6600-block of South Halsted Street just after 9:30 p.m.

Police officers who responded to the scene discovered a 38-year-old man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was reported as critical.

In the same incident, another man, aged 49, managed to reach the hospital on his own. He had been shot in the leg and was treated at the same facility, where his condition was described as stable.

The officers later visited St. Bernard Hospital, where they found two additional shooting victims. These men, aged 35 and 36, each suffered gunshot wounds to their legs. They were both in stable condition.

No one was in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating. Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
