An Adelaide man who was due in court over a massage parlour siege has been arrested after a separate stand-off at a city strip club.

9News has exclusively obtained footage from a city venue where a suspect allegedly broke a door, threw a brick at a police vehicle, and refused to come down from a rooftop.

Police were called to the venue, Pole Position on Pirie Street, at approximately 6pm last night, with up to 15 officers responding.

“He put up a hell of a fight, I reckon there were about five policemen in the rear of the building here before they held him down,” one witness said.

The suspect, 43-year-old Peter Towsti, is accused of causing significant damage to the venue, including wrecking the beer garden and leaving glass bottles scattered, as well as shattering a back door.

Witnesses say they saw Towsti throwing bricks and bottles from the roof.

“There was a lot of glass here and bricks and kegs that he was throwing over the fence,” a bystander said.

Towsti was scheduled to attend court today in connection with an incident in July, where he allegedly barricaded himself inside a Hindley Street massage parlor, leading to an almost two-hour standoff.

Following that incident, he was arrested and granted police bail.

Towsti did not make it to his court hearing this afternoon. The magistrate was informed that he is currently undergoing evaluation at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

His lawyer has indicated a possible application for release on bail in the coming days.

The matter is scheduled to return to court in a month.
