A student from Texas Tech University was taken into custody after a video went viral, showing her mocking mourners of Charlie Kirk and gaining attention from public officials.

The footage captures a woman on the Lubbock campus chanting, “F— y’all, yo homie dead,” while dancing. An exchange occurs between her and the person filming, who refers to her as “evil.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott reacted to the viral video, which garnered millions of views by Monday morning, by stating on social media, “Definitely picked the wrong school to taunt the death of Charlie Kirk. Thanks Texas Tech.”

In another social media post showing the woman being handcuffed by police, Abbott commented, “This is what happened to the person who was mocking Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Texas Tech. FAFO [F*** Around, Find Out].”

Camryn Giselle Booker, 18, was arrested Friday. is working to confirm reports of her expulsion and has reached out to Texas Tech for comment.

Cody Campbell, chairman of the university’s board of regents, expressed on social media, “We, @TexasTech, are proud of our values and are not afraid to stand up for them. Strive for Honor Evermore! Long Live the Matadors!!”

Kirk, who was a conservative activist and supporter of President Donald Trump, was shot and killed during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. His death has sparked a nationwide response of support, while criticisms of his political views and comments in favor of his death have faced backlash.

Companies such as Delta Airlines and Office Depot have adjusted their social media policies in response to Kirk’s death, and local and state agencies have fired employees over social media comments.
