RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — Recently, an outdoor product distribution center revealed plans to shift to a third-party provider at its Rantoul site, affecting around 130 workers.

Revelyst Inc., involved in designing, manufacturing, and storing outdoor gear, was part of Vista Outdoors before it divided into two entities. On September 3, Revelyst issued a WARN Notice about its strategy to conduct a mass layoff at the Rantoul location.

According to data shared with Illinois workNet Centers, the layoff will impact 126 employees and is scheduled to begin Nov. 3, 2025.

A Revelyst representative explained that this notice is connected to the company’s move to switch the distribution center operations to a third-party logistics (3PL) provider, DHL Supply Chain.

In the course of this transition, numerous distribution employees will have the opportunity to be employed by DHL, which plans to incorporate both the positions and the affected Revelyst staff into its system. DHL is collaborating with the Rantoul distribution workforce to ensure a seamless and supportive transition. Revelyst anticipates that this collaboration will boost logistics and improve efficiency, while also opening new career paths for the Rantoul team members within DHL’s extensive network.

The WARN Act provides certain protections for workers, mandating that employees receive a written notice 60 days prior to a mass layoff. If an employer fails to meet this requirement, affected employees may be entitled to compensation covering pay and benefits for up to 60 days.

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a law firm specializing in class action cases, is examining Revelyst to determine whether the company neglected to deliver at least a 60-day notice before initiating layoffs, which would constitute a breach of the WARN Act.

WCIA reached out to Strauss Borrelli PLLC for more information, but the law firm declined to comment.
