The teen had said anyone who attended the vigil for Charlie Kirk “is getting shot up.”

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A teenager has been apprehended after threatening to open fire at a vigil for Charlie Kirk, based on information from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The police report details that the teenager, Imayen Ekanem, 18, had just finished working her shift at a local fast-food restaurant on Saturday, Sept. 13. After her shift, she posted an image of the intended vigil on her private Snapchat story, slated for the next day. Authorities noted that Ekanem accompanied the picture with text stating “not on my bday” and threatening “whoever goes is getting shot up.”

The report says that multiple people had viewed the post before it was initially reported to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement revealed that during an interview with Ekanem, she expressed her opposition to Kirk’s views, particularly concerning gun violence.

Ekanem is charged with one count of written/electronic threat to commit a mass shooting/terrorism act. She currently has no bond.
