Jaw-dropping video captured the moment a teacher who raped an 11-year-old boy pretended to act shocked when police arrested her.

Alley Bardfield, 34, previously a substitute teacher at Decatur Public Schools, has admitted to enticing a sixth-grade student to her home in Mount Zion, Illinois under the guise of ‘play dates’ before engaging in sexual misconduct with him.

The uncovering of the disgraced teacher’s repulsive actions commenced in April 2024, after the boy’s mother became concerned about his changed behavior following an overnight stay at Bardfield’s house between March 29 and March 30.

The concerned parent went through his phone, finding stomach-churning evidence of the inappropriate relationship.

The boy said they had exchanged nudes over Snapchat, and he had received more than $700 from the predator over the course of a few months.

He also said they had unprotected sex on Bardfield’s bed, which she construction worker husband, Casey Newton Bardfield.

The child’s mother took him to HSHS St John’s Hospital, where staff administered a rape kit.

Although Bardfield confessed to her guilt in August, newly released body camera footage displays her feigning confusion during the initial police inquiry last year.

Bardfield, once a substitute teacher at Decatur Public Schools, admitted to enticing her sixth-grade student to her Mount Zion residence under the pretense of ‘play dates’ and subsequently abusing him.

In the days prior, the young victim and his family had gone to the police to alert them he had been sexually abused.

Bardfield stepped outside after officers arrived, telling them there were three children, according to the April 3, 2024 body camera footage.

‘You are going to be placed under arrest,’ a cop was heard telling Bardfield after he said they had a warrant to search her home.

‘Me?’ the ex-teacher, wearing a bright-red Mount Zion sweatshirt, replied as she placed her hand on her chest in fake surprise.

‘Mhmm. You’re Alley, right?’ the cop responded to her performative confusion.

After she confirmed her identity, the officer told her she was being arrested for predatory criminal sexual assault and for grooming the child.

‘For what?’ she asked in a high-pitched and confused tone.

The cop said there was a ‘significant amount of evidence’ against her, but she immediately denied any wrongdoing.

Decatur Public Schools dismissed Bardfield soon after the allegations surfaced, and she entered a guilty plea as part of an arrangement 16 months after the initial exposure.

Predatory criminal sexual assault is punishable by up to 60 years in prison. However, prosecutors agreed to cap the recommended sentence at 40 years (pictured: Bardfield's mugshot)

The charge of predatory criminal sexual assault can lead to a maximum prison sentence of 60 years. Nevertheless, prosecutors have agreed on a recommendation capping her sentence at 40 years (shown: Bardfield’s mugshot).

She was later seen with her arms crossed as she hesitantly walked alongside an officer to the police car.

Court documents state that earlier in the day, the child’s parents and police officers were listening in on phone calls that Bardfield had with the boy.

During those discussions, she reportedly spoke about birth control and pregnancy. She also urged him to delete texts between them.

Police said she told the sixth grader that she was not able to get pregnant.

‘The victim asked Alley if he came over this weekend… if they could “do it again”. Alley responded “Yes”,’ the affidavit stated.

‘These allegations are shocking, especially when the alleged perpetrator is a person in a position of trust,’ Mount Zion police said in a statement at the time.

‘The Mt Zion Police Department is fully committed working with victims and their families as they deal with the trauma that results from these incidents.’

The boy’s family said they planned to sue the school district for failing to protect their son.

Bardfield will learn her fate at a sentencing hearing scheduled for September 25.
