Investigators have identified the body found in the trunk of an impounded car owned by singer D4vd as a teen who disappeared last year.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, the individual found was 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore in early 2024, as per a KABC report. The cause of death is currently labeled as “deferred,” indicating that while an autopsy has been completed, additional tests are required for a conclusive determination.
KABC also reported that law enforcement conducted a search of a house near the location where the Tesla was found abandoned on Wednesday. During the search, a computer and various other items were confiscated. However, connections between this search and the abandoned Tesla remain unclear.
Local residents mentioned that they noticed the car parked on the street for a considerable period. Initially, it was spotted in front of the searched house and later moved to other locations along the street.
The body was discovered on September 8, after a foul odor was reported by a Hollywood tow yard where the vehicle had been impounded, as mentioned by CrimeOnline. The decomposed remains were found inside a bag located in the vehicle’s front trunk. Investigators stated she had been deceased for an extended period.
The Tesla was registered to 20-year-old singer D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, who was away on tour when the body was found. His tour is scheduled to conclude in Los Angeles on September 20.
