Wanted Savannah man indicted federally

A man who once featured on “Savannah’s Top 10 Most Wanted” list has been indicted by a federal grand jury, according to U.S. Attorney Margaret Heap for the Southern District of Georgia. The announcement was made on Friday.

Ra’Quavius Rawls was indicted in the Southern District of Georgia for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

On July 24, 2024, the Savannah Police Department (SPD) received a tip-off that Rawls was at a gas station. Upon their arrival, he departed in a vehicle. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted by the officers, and Rawls was identified as a passenger in the car.

After searching the vehicle, a firearm was discovered in the passenger side glove box.

The incident is under the investigation of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, in collaboration with the Savannah Police Department. Special Assistant United States Attorney Makeia R. Jonese is responsible for prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States.
