In a continued partnership with Spotify, Barcelona will replace their usual sponsor with Ed Sheeran’s branding for the upcoming El Clasico against Real Madrid, as they have done previously with music icons.

Holding the naming rights to Camp Nou, Spotify has previously showcased artists like Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, Karol G, Coldplay, and Travis Scott on Barca’s jerseys for significant matches.

Sheeran will now join that list when Barcelona travel to the Santiago Bernabéu on October 26.

The Catalan outlet RAC1 reported that Barcelona’s kit might highlight either Ed Sheeran’s name or the logo for his latest album “Play”. The kit specialist @memorabilia1899 noted that both options are under consideration.

Similar to past partnerships, a lifestyle collection accompanying the special jersey could also be launched, with past collections often supporting charitable causes, although specific details are yet to be confirmed this time.

Sheeran – who, fittingly, once released a song titled “Barcelona” back in 2017 – released “Play” on September 12 to mixed reviews.

If Barcelona can outplay Madrid in these Ed Sheeran-themed shirts, the Catalan supporters may celebrate in unison (catch the pun?).
