LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Livingston County announced on Friday that they have ended their public transportation service agreement with SHOW BUS, effective immediately.

The services provided by SHOW BUS in both Livingston and Iroquois County were largely funded by State and Federal grants. It was a tough decision for Livingston County Board Chairman James Carley to terminate the contract, but it was deemed necessary as SHOW BUS was not complying with the contractual terms they had with the county.

Carley pointed out that the transportation service also failed to meet the grant requirements set by the State of Illinois and the Illinois Department of Transportation.

“Livingston County has a fiscal responsibility to make sure that all contracted services align with these vital standards,” Carley stated. “We acknowledge that public transportation is a crucial need for our citizens, and we want the community to know that Livingston County is hard at work finding a suitable service provider to minimize any disruption in service.”

He emphasized that the county’s main objective is to ensure that residents continue to have dependable and safe transportation options. Carley expressed gratitude to the residents for their understanding and patience as they navigate this transition.
