Andrew Kolvet, the executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, has addressed swirling conspiracy theories about a Turning Point USA staff member who retrieved SD cards from a camera after Charlie Kirk’s tragic assassination.

Kolvet discussed the reasons for the actions taken and highlighted the chaotic aftermath of the shooting, stressing the importance of safeguarding sensitive footage from potential misuse. Along with Tucker Carlson and a TPUSA staff member, Kolvet talked about the incident’s impact and how it contributed to an atmosphere of distrust, which in turn, propagated conspiracy theories.

This footage became widely circulated and misinterpreted as evidence of a cover-up:

Transcripts:

Andrew Kolvet:

“There’s one conspiracy theory I want to address. One of our close friends, who’s been with us from the beginning and regarded Charlie as a brother, took the SD cards out of the camera. There are numerous conspiracy videos questioning this action—why did he retrieve the SD cards? First, they are now with the FBI; he didn’t disappear with them. Furthermore, I asked him personally why he did it.

And he looked at me and this was his answer. He said, because I know people can be evil.

He wanted to prevent anyone from taking that footage. After the incident, some people were seen taking hats off tables. I’m genuinely grateful he acted this way. His instinct was to protect the footage. He mentioned feeling down because he knew he had to secure the recordings, especially since it was high-quality 4k video. I’m thankful he did it because Charlie understood the presence of evil.”

Tucker Carlson:

“I believe people can sense evil and are trying to make sense of this situation, often arriving at incorrect conclusions. They are mainly motivated by positive intentions. They distrust authorities, and rightly so, having been misled often. The problem isn’t with them; they are victims of deceit.

And either, of course, bad actors were doing it for clicks or whatever. But I guess but there are far more people who love Charlie.

They cherished what he represented and believe he was killed by evil. They’re right in that sense, though uncertain about the type of evil since no authority guides them. I’m not surprised by their feelings. I’ve repeatedly explained to many people that lying and secrecy lead to mistrust. Moving forward, I urge people in power to embrace honesty as Charlie did. Being truthful will help mend relationships and foster understanding. Lies brought us to this point, and honesty is the cure. It’s about self-truth, not criticizing others. By admitting our truths, we invite belief and trust from others as they perceive our honesty.”
