Justice for the slain conservative political activist Charlie Kirk will not be achieved in a courtroom but through a “religious revival” and an increased membership in Turning Point USA, as stated by political commentator Megyn Kelly.

“(Justice) can’t be found in a courtroom,” Kelly remarked on ’s “Batya!” hosted by Batya Ungar-Sargon. “Something will happen there, but it can only be found in the religious revival that people are feeling right now … the 54,000 applications for new Turning Point chapters that they say they’ve gotten from college and high school students alike.”

Kelly said Kirk’s death has the potential to be a lightning rod moment for conservatism.

“If (Kirk) significantly enhances young people’s relationship with God and their faith, he will consider his life well-lived. He expressed that he wishes to be remembered for ‘courage to my faith.’”

Kirk, who was a close friend of Kelly, was fatally shot on a Utah college campus while speaking to a crowd.

Authorities have reported that the 22-year-old Utah man accused of last week’s fatal shooting of Kirk had planned for at least a week before firing a single shot at the conservative activist from a rooftop on a college campus.

Tyler Robinson faces charges of aggravated murder and other crimes. On Tuesday, he made a brief appearance before a judge via video from jail. He remains in custody without bond and faces the death penalty if convicted.

Robinson is believed to have targeted Kirk based on the activist’s political expression.
