An aged care worker in south-east Queensland has been charged with 113 offences over allegedly defrauding elderly people in her care.

The 23-year-old woman allegedly obtained bank details from four elderly victims at an aged care centre in Rothwell, south of Brisbane, where she worked and used them to make personal purchases between last October and June.

She has been charged with 110 counts of fraud and one count each of enter dwelling with intent, enter dwelling and obtaining identification information.

The woman is due to appear at Redcliffe courthouse later this week. (Nine)

She is due to appear before Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Police say officers carried out an extensive investigation that examined a web of online and in-person purchases.

“I thank the victims and their loved ones for reporting suspicious banking activity and purchases,” Detective Senior Sergeant Elkins said.

“Taking advantage of the elderly members in our community will not be tolerated.”

The Queensland Government has an Elder Abuse Helpline and free seniors legal services which can offer support to elderly people.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of a similar offence, please contact police.
