Emerging details reveal singer D4vd’s peculiar actions before the discovery of Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s dismembered body in his car trunk earlier this month.

The R&B artist reportedly incorporated a casket into his stage performances and released a music video, “One More Dance,” in February that depicted a body being dragged into a trunk, with D4vd portraying both the killer and the victim.

In response to Ashleigh Banfield’s query about D4vd’s mindset, TMZ’s Charles Latibeaudiere acknowledged that his behavior indeed stands out.

“His mind indeed operates differently,” Latibeaudiere remarked. “Still, his attorney might argue that it’s just his art. You can’t prosecute someone based on their artistic expression.”

D4vd had comment made on his TikTok that mentions LAPD and Celeste

Hernandez disappeared in February 2024, and later that month, a comment on D4vd’s TikTok read, “Waiting for LAPD to get your ass for messing with a 13-year-old girl.”

It wasn’t until two months later that her family reported Hernandez missing. At the time, she was only 13 years old, authorities said.

“It’s challenging not to see things differently,” Latibeaudiere stated. “Given his car’s connection to this crime, it’s difficult not to question, hmm … what’s happening here?”

Hernandez’s remains were discovered at a Hollywood tow yard on Sept. 8.

D4vd was notified of the investigation after the body was found and is “cooperating” with authorities, his spokesperson said, according to Rolling Stone.

LAPD searched D4vd’s house and have several items of evidence, leads

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to that they raided D4vd’s home looking for “blood evidence” to connect to Hernandez.

“On September 17, 2025, detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division served a search warrant on the 1300 block of Doheny Place in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez,” the LAPD said in a statement.

“Several items of evidence were recovered and will be analyzed by detectives in the coming days. This is an ongoing investigation. Investigators are following up on several leads.”

While police haven’t officially linked D4vd and Hernandez, a leaked D4vd song mentions Celeste multiple times, Latibeaudiere said. The track, which leaked on Soundcloud in December 2023, was titled “Celeste_Demo unfin.”

No one has yet been charged in Hernandez’s death.
