Lem Turner Road deadly pedestrian crash is a hit and run, JSO says

JSO investigators said the man was found laying in the road unresponsive around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after JSO investigators said he was hit by a vehicle that ran from the scene early Wednesday morning. 

Police reports indicated that officers were called to the 9400 block of Lem Turner Road in Jacksonville’s Riverview neighborhood at approximately 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday after receiving reports of an unresponsive man lying in the road.

When police arrived, they found the man and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said the man’s injuries were consistent with being hit by a vehicle, but do not have suspect information at this time.
