Chatham County Sheriff's Office promotes 2 new colonels

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. () — The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) promoted two colonels, both having served Chatham County for years before.

The two promotions were in addition to the pinning of Chief Deputy McArthur Holmes.

Colonel Raphael I. Hall, a native of Savannah, has been elevated to the role of Executive overseeing Internal Affairs Administration and Law Enforcement Administration. Col. Hall launched his career as a Deputy Corrections Officer with Chatham County, eventually advancing to a police officer role. His journey included positions as an investigator and supervisor, and he served as the Captain of Operations at Savannah State University (SSU). Moreover, he worked as a Case Manager within the Child Protective Services Division in Chatham County.

Colonel Torrey V. Mackey has also earned a promotion following more than thirty years of dedicated service in Chatham County. Col. Mackey’s career path took him from the CCSO to roles in the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office and the Georgia Public Defender’s Office, before making his way back to the CCSO.
