The alleged gunman behind Wednesday’s fatal targeted assault on the Dallas ICE Field office reportedly conducted numerous online searches related to the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the FBI revealed on Thursday.

Joshua Jahn, 29, was identified as the person linked to Wednesday’s deadly shooting, which killed one ICE detainee and critically injured two others.

According to FBI reports, searches at Jahn’s home and personal space were conducted. It was discovered that Jahn had investigated ballistics and watched footage of Kirk’s shooting, which occurred at a college event in Utah two weeks prior to the Dallas incident, FBI Director Kash Patel mentioned through a social media post.

Additionally, Patel noted that Jahn had downloaded a document titled “Dallas County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management,” containing a comprehensive list of Department of Homeland Security locations. Since September 19, Jahn had also explored various mobile applications that monitor the whereabouts of ICE officers.

The FBI also found evidence that demonstrated a high level of planning ahead of the attack.

Authorities discovered a handwritten note at the scene that suggested, “Hopefully this will instill actual fear in ICE agents, making them ponder, ‘is there a marksman with armor-piercing rounds on the rooftop?'”

Jahn’s older brother, Noah Jahn, told Reuters on Wednesday that he was not aware that his brother harbored any negative feelings about ICE.

“I had no idea he harbored any political motives,” expressed the older brother, a resident of McKinney, Texas, approximately 30 miles north of Dallas, where his sibling also lived.

This is a developing story. will update the story as more information becomes available.
