TMZ, a celebrity news outlet, has acquired surveillance footage that seems to capture Celeste Rivas Hernandez moving quickly in Lake Elsinore, California, early on March 19, 2024. This timing aligns with reports of the teenager’s disappearance.

Charles Latibeaudiere, the executive producer at TMZ, revealed that the video was sourced from a nearby liquor store. The store owner claims off-camera observations showed Celeste entering a waiting car. Her sister is said to have recognized the girl in the video as Celeste, who appears in a black hoodie and white pants.

Earlier this month, Celeste’s decomposed body was discovered in a Tesla which had been impounded. The vehicle belonged to singer D4vd. According to his representatives, the 20-year-old artist is fully cooperating with the Los Angeles police, who have also searched the Hollywood Hills property he rented.

Latibeaudiere told “Banfield” on Friday the case has been unusually quiet.

“Usually, you hear something from the authorities. Their silence with such a large force indicates they’re keeping whatever they’ve learned under wraps,” commented a source.

D4vd’s Tesla could hold answers

Digital forensic expert Jason Lewis highlights that the Tesla model where Celeste’s remains were found is fitted with numerous sensors and cameras. If properly configured, the vehicle might hold crucial evidence about the case.

Lewis explained, “If the vehicle’s ‘Sentry Mode’ was on, it would have recorded significant video footage from its eight external cameras. This setup could provide clips showing who interacted with the car, including opening doors or the trunk, information which police might retrieve.”

If Sentry Mode was not activated, he added, there would not be footage recorded by the stationary vehicle. Another thing to consider, Lewis said, is that videos can be deleted remotely, though police would still have a chance at recovering the information.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Department says the teen’s cause of death has not yet been determined.
