Ex-FBI agent turned UVU professor breaks down the evidence trail Tyler Robinson left for detectives

A man suspected of killing Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University “left evidence everywhere” even though he seems to have planned the attack thoroughly, as stated by a former FBI agent who is now a criminal justice instructor at the university.

Tyler Robinson, aged 22, is charged with assassinating the 31-year-old Kirk by firing a shot to his neck from a rooftop while Kirk was addressing a crowd in the campus courtyard.

Greg Rogers, a former FBI undercover agent who now lectures on serial killers and criminal psychology at UVU, mentioned that this assassination will be used as a future learning case for his students.

Discord spokespersons have said the company found no evidence that Robinson used the platform to plan or discuss the attack before the shooting.

During his FBI career, Rogers went undercover to infiltrate biker gangs, extremist militias, and White supremacist factions. He also served as a SWAT sniper in several FBI field offices and worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in Texas’s Western District.

Rogers is particularly concerned about the safety of his students going forward. Kirk was one of the most notable speakers to visit UVU in the seven years Rogers has been teaching there, and significantly, the only one to conduct a large outdoor event.

“There will surely be a report investigating this,” Rogers remarked. “His security and the campus security will have a difficult time justifying why there wasn’t a drone overhead. It’s a cheap measure. Wearing all black on a white roof, he would have been very noticeable.”

He said he expects future events to be held indoors with security checks similar to the school’s basketball games.
