Keith Urban has shocked fans by changing the lyrics of his song about Nicole Kidman romance to include the name of his new female guitarist.
The duo has been at the center of media attention following the announcement of their breakup this week, sparking numerous speculations about the reasons behind it.
The 58-year-old actress has filed for divorce, ending their 19-year marriage, with sources from Nicole’s side suggesting that Keith may already be seeing someone new.
Now, a clip of Urban, 57, performing The Fighter at a recent show has come to light, with fans noticing one major difference in the lyrics.
His guitarist, Maggie Baugh, 25, posted a video on Instagram on Saturday. In the clip, Keith is seen singing, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.”
The original lyric goes: ‘When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter’.

Keith Urban surprised fans by altering the lyrics of his song about his romance with Nicole Kidman to include the name of his new female guitarist, Maggie Baugh (shown on stage in 2024).

Nicole and Keith have been making headlines since the news of their split was released this week, sparking much speculation about what might have happened between them (pictured in January).

Maggie shared the snippet on social media on Monday. Although her initial caption for the clip is unknown, after Keith’s separation from Nicole was announced, she modified the caption.
The 2016 song, which originally featured Carrie Underwood, is about the early stages of a relationship when things could go either way.
It is not known how Baugh originally captioned the clip, yet after Urban’s split from Kidman was made public she edited the wording.
The new caption, uploaded on Wednesday, read: ‘Did he just say that’ alongside mind-blown emojis.
Fans have now commented on the video: ‘OK, dumping Nicole is looking more suspect’;
‘Wow, that song was made for Nicole. For him to do that that tells us what he’s really all about’;
‘It is so trashy to do this to a song inspired by his wife. It’s the ultimate ick.’
Nicole filed for divorce from her soon-to-be ex-husband on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences.
The Oscar winner and the musician have been kept apart of late due to their hectic filming and touring schedules.
An insider previously told the Daily Mail that Kidman was left ‘blindsided’ by the split – though it now appears she was the one to hammer the final nail into the coffin.

The actress, 58, has since filed for divorce to end their 19-year marriage, and insiders in Nicole’s camp believe Keith has already moved on with someone else (pictured in 2017)

The couple were last seen in June – Kidman filed to end the marriage on Tuesday
Since the news, a source claimed to the Daily Mail that Urban has already moved on with a younger woman in the music industry.
The well-placed Nashville music business PR source said: ‘The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business. It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.’
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Kidman and Urban for comment and has yet to hear back.
The former couple share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise, 63, for 11 years from 1990 to 2001 . They adopted two children together: Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30.
Those in Kidman’s circle say that merely the suggestion of him with someone else after their separation has been difficult for her to process.
The Australian actress and Urban were last seen together publicly in June this year, when they were pictured attending a FIFA World Cup match in Nashville, Tennessee.
The country star has been away for much of the year on his High and Alive World Tour. He is due to perform in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Thursday.

In July, Urban hinted all was not well between the pair when he sensationally hung up on a radio station after a crude question about Kidman’s raunchy film scenes in films such as Babygirl and A Family Affair – pictured with Zac Efron
Kidman and the children have remained in Nashville, where the couple own a $4million compound.
In July, Urban hinted at trouble in the marriage when he abruptly hung up during a radio interview following a crude question about Kidman’s raunchy scenes in Babygirl and A Family Affair.
For her part, and while promoting her Netflix series The Perfect Couple back in September last year, Kidman admitted there was no such thing as a ‘perfect’ marriage.
‘There’s no perfect anything,’ she said, ‘anything that’s presented as perfect… forget it.’
Earlier that year, Kidman said she was ‘so lucky’ to have met the singer.
‘I’m so lucky that I have Keith who’s just my love, my deep, deep love,’ she told People magazine.
‘I’m so lucky that I have Keith… that gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back,’ she added.
The news of their split comes just weeks after Kidman marked nearly two decades of marriage with Urban by sharing a heartfelt tribute to the country star on their 19th wedding anniversary.
To mark the occasion, the Big Little Lies star posted a tender black and white photo of the couple sharing a quiet moment backstage at one of his shows.
In the image, the Oscar winner can be seen with one arm draped lovingly over her husband’s shoulders as he held her hand.
The happy couple both closed their eyes as Kidman rested her forehead against Urban’s head.
‘Happy Anniversary Baby @KeithUrban,’ she captioned the post, which received more than 25,023 likes in less than an hour.

Kidman and Urban married five years after her split from actor Cruise.
Elsewhere, Kidman’s heartbreaking words about her love for ‘crush’ Urban have resurfaced following the news she has filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage.
Kidman never intended for her marriage to end, and had always planned to grow old with Urban.
In 2009, Nicole told Access Hollywood: ‘I want to be in love for the rest of my life. I want to be an old woman still married to Keith, and looking back going, “what a lovely, lovely journey together.”‘
Elsewhere, speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on her chat show in 2017, Nicole recalled: ‘I had such a crush on Keith, and he wasn’t interested in me. He didn’t call me for four months.’
In recent years, Kidman has been taking on a string of racy roles, notably starring in erotic thriller Babygirl last year.
It was also reported last year that Urban had to take a step back from seeing her as his wife while she was filming racy scenes with other men.

A source told Daily Mail: ‘He removes himself from seeing her as his wife and supports her and enjoys the work.’
The insider added: ‘When Keith is watching her work, he sees it as her art. She is playing characters – she isn’t playing Nicole Kidman.
‘Keith isn’t wincing during these types of scenes, he knows it is just part of the story.’
However, in July, Urban abruptly ended an interview when questioned about his Nicole’s recent sex scenes – indicating he could have been struggling to deal with that aspect of her career.
The singer had called into the Mix102.3 Adelaide radio show Hayley & Max in the Morning in Australia to promote a series of upcoming shows.
The interview began innocuously enough with Keith saying he always enjoyed playing in Adelaide, yet things quickly got uncomfortable when the singer took part in a radio game titled Wall of Truth.
He was quizzed about his wife appearing in ‘love scenes’ causing him to abruptly quit the interviews he was doing via Zoom.
Host Max Burford asked: ‘What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron, having these beautiful love scenes?’
But, Keith did not reply and it was revealed he had left the Zoom call, with a programme producer heard explaining: ‘I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question’.
But an insider later insisted that Keith had nothing to do with the disconnection and that he ‘did not hang up, period.’
They added: ‘He doesn’t host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger.’
