SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Coastal Heritage Society welcomed a special delivery over the past few days that took four semi-trailor trucks to transport.
The exhibit titled “Numbers in Nature” is being prepared for installation in the storehouse building. This will mark the opening of the first exhibit within the new STEAM Center at the Savannah Children’s Museum, representing the museum’s initial indoor area.
The Coastal Heritage Society has announced that preservation and upgrades of the century-old storehouse are almost finished. The installation of the exhibit may start as soon as next week, with plans to open it to the public later in the year.
“Numbers in Nature” combines elements of mathematics and nature in a hands-on way, making it easy for children to grasp intricate concepts and providing them with additional learning opportunities beyond the classroom. A standout feature of the exhibit is an engaging mirror maze.
In the meantime, efforts to raise funds for this project are in progress. Malcolm and Julia Butler, both from Savannah, have pledged to match every dollar donated up to $150,000 for the STEAM Center.
