Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau remain captivated by each other and are eager to spend more time together during her touring breaks, a source close to the singer revealed to the Daily Mail.
‘Katy is very, very intrigued by him,’ the source mentioned. ‘She describes him as quite a catch, a person of high caliber. Although she keeps most details private, it’s evident she still harbors strong feelings for him.’
The pop sensation, aged 40, and the former Canadian Prime Minister, aged 53, caused a stir on social media in July following their sighting at a Montreal restaurant in Canada.
They talked animatedly for several hours on their date, eating several seafood dishes.
At the time, sources close to Perry insisted that the meetup was ‘just a hangout’ and not something romantic.
But after the date – and Trudeau’s surprise appearance in the audience of her show two days later – the couple kept in touch.

Now, the Daily Mail has learned that the couple continues to text and call each other, often spending several hours on the phone.
Insiders say that they chat about their days, their kids, and how they long for more in-person time together in the near future.
‘Their busy schedules and residing in different cities keep them apart physically,’ the insider explained to the Daily Mail. ‘But if there’s ever a person worth pursuing a long-distance relationship with, it’s him. She has a strong liking for him, and he feels the same. They might even be considered smitten with each other.’
‘Katy excels at texting,’ the source added. ‘And when she’s genuinely interested in someone like she is with him, she’ll make an effort to send morning wishes or inquire about his day. She’s truly thoughtful that way.’
Perry has about three months before she will have any extended downtime scheduled that would allow her to visit Trudeau.
‘She’s still very busy on her tour,’ the insider told the Daily Mail. ‘So time will tell what happens.’
Perry’s Lifetimes Tour will end on December 7, 2025. The tour started on April 23, and will consist of 91 shows across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.
She does not have any obligations scheduled for several weeks after the tour ends.

Perry, who split from Orlando Bloom earlier this year after eight years together, was not looking for a new relationship so soon.
The couple co-parent their daughter, Daisy Dove.
Trudeau, who split from his wife Sophie Gregoire in 2023, has three children: Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11. Friends say he has been dating more frequently and is open to a new relationship.
‘I think they’re in different places,’ our source told the Daily Mail. ‘But not so different that it can’t work out. There’s some middle ground there if they take things slow. It’s not serious and it’s not love, but it’s definite interest.’
