Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the disgraced music mogul, aged 55, was found guilty of two charges related to transporting individuals for prostitution and has been sentenced to 50 months, consisting of 4 years and 2 months, in prison.
Judge Arun Subramanian reassures Diddy that there is “light at the end of the tunnel” for him and his family. He notes that although the mogul is currently in a “dark place,” his loved ones’ support will help him overcome it.
“This is a hard time in prison, away from your family, friends, and community, but you will have a life afterward,” Subramanian states.
Combs’ final efforts for a complete acquittal or a new trial were dismissed just hours before sentencing. Judge Subramanian explains that the prosecution’s case was proven so effectively that it justified denying Combs’ motion. He also contends that “spillover bias” is inapplicable since the jury did not convict Combs on the most pertinent charges.
Though initially refusing Combs’ plea to wear ‘street clothes’ at his sentencing, Judge Subramanian eventually permitted him to wear a button-down shirt, sweater, pants, and dress shoes.
Subramanian required a more structured argument and that his attorneys pare down his wardrobe options before granting the request.
