Tenn./Va. (WJHL) — The full moon that occurs closest to the Autumn Equinox is commonly referred to as the “Harvest Moon.”
On Monday night, residents from the Tri-Cities turned their eyes to the night sky to admire the supermoon. This year presents an unusual occurrence, with the Harvest Moon rising in October instead of its typical appearance in September.
